MISSION OF THE TEXAS WRANGLERS

Our mission is to serve the University of Texas at Austin by promoting the spirit and high ideals of the Texas Wranglers, fostering positive relationships among all members of the University community, and assisting in community service opportunities within the Austin area.

THE EVENT: SECOND ANNUAL TWO STEP THROWDOWN

In January of 2016, the Texas Wranglers’ new class presented the inaugural Two Step Throwdown at Ironwood Hall. We were able to raise a net donation of over $18,500 for Mona Foundation, with over 550 people attending the event (limited by venue capacity). This year, the Texas Wranglers organization (rather than the new class only) has officially designated Two Step Throwdown as our Spring Philanthropy event; we hope to double our donation and expect over 1000 people in attendance. We have solidified a long-term partnership with Mona Foundation, which will allow for further recognition of your sponsorship in the future.

THE ARTIST: LUKE PELL

Luke grew up in a small town right in the heart of Texas singing along to George Strait, Garth Brooks, and many others that contributed to the sound you hear in Luke’s music today. He attended West Point where he graduated in Sociology and Systems Engineering with high honor distinctions. While in college, he played for the Football team and also had time to develop his passion for songwriting. The library of country influences mixed with the lyrical testaments of the roller coaster of life experiences that Luke has personally been through produces the truly unique, transcending Texas sound you hear from his music.

Luke was featured in the twelfth season of the hit ABC television show The Bachelorette. During his time on The Bachelorette, Luke was a fan favorite and one of the final contenders, amassing over five hundred thousand Instagram followers in the process. Luke has a widespread fan base, especially amongst the college-age demographic.

THE VENUE: SCOOT INN

The Historic Scoot Inn was established in 1871 and has been an iconic East Austin landmark ever since. It is rated as one of the best outdoor music venues in Austin, with multiple bar areas, indoor lounge areas, and a large outdoor amphitheater area with a 1000 person capacity, where our concert event will take place.
